Nine Years…Wowza.

Howdy, friends! How is your week? Ours has been different than usual as we have a little trip coming up. But let’s talk about what has been going on, shall we?

On Tuesday, the fridge looked like this…

Clearly a trip to the grocery was in order. Since we were going to be in town, Brooke and I swung by the pool for a quick swim before heading to City Market. (There is a bit more food in there now, but not much…dont want things to spoil!).

When we got home from our errands, I hit up the trainer for about an hour. Taking this style thing to the next level ;). What can I say, the knee likes to be warm and I didnt want to do extra laundry before the trip!

Ken was planning to take a rest day, but I told him that if he didnt get out for at least a little while, he was silly. He went out for 55 minutes on his bike and loved every warm (relative, right?) minute. (I sent him this to encourage his ride, hahahah)

While he was riding, Brooke was dressing me up. Dang, girl.

Random, we gave this book to my father-in-law and then I just had a friend post this on Instagram. Guess it is pretty good!

Yesterday (Wednesday) was my and Ken’s NINE year anniversary. I have no idea how 9 years have gone by. We have known each other for about 21 years, I am not sure if that makes the 9 feel longer or shorter.

In true wintery fashion, I stomped out “Happy Anniversary” in the snow in our yard. I spelled anniversary from y->a. Be impressed. PS that takes up a large amount of the yard. It took some work!

Spent most of the day packing and cleaning, with a side of a 4 mile treadmill run and a dip in the hot tub with the kid (we went in while it was sunny out and it was HOT).

When Ken got home, we chilled and grilled (and had a delicious dinner). Got to hang out for a bit before he went out to finish some garage projects.

Today, we are in packing mode. All the things! Took a break this morning to throw together some macaroons for the road. Yes, please. Road trip=snacks have no calories.

It was my first time ever using the “dry mixer” with the vitamix to make the coconut flakes a bit smaller. It is kind of thebombdotcom.

With weather like this today, it has been easy to stay inside! We have seen rain and snow and wind, oh my!

Took a 45 minute spin on the trainer before doing 20 minutes of Cosmic Kids Yoga with Brooke.

This outfit though….Went straight from bike shorts to….

Yoga shorts.

Yes, it is 78 degrees in my house!

The rest of the day includes finishing touches on packing. Good times!

Hope that your week has been awesome! Cant wait to check in with some adventures over the next week!

For now….just a random montage of couples photos to celebrate nine years of doing things together 😉

Yes, we do a lot of things with bike 😉

A Day for Tubing and Sad News

Hi there and happy Tuesday to you! How is your day going? Nice weather? Good workout?

Our day started off in the dark (well, Ken’s did!). I prepped all his stuff last night, so he got up solo and hit the road for some snowmobile/back country skiing this morning! Apparently, there was a TON of snow and it was well worth his early morning.

Brooke and I started our day a bit later (6:40 am was a much nicer time to roll out of bed!). Had some breakfast, did some chores…all that fun stuff. There was an unfortunate incident with a mixing bowl :(. The bowls were a wedding gift almost 9 years ago and I had done so well….At least it was a set of 4, so I am still up 3!

Around 9, I headed to the basement for a quick ride. I started with 50 minutes to use, but between moving laundry and answering work phone calls, I ended up with just over 40 minutes of actual riding. Sometimes you take what you can get!

It was a quick ride because we had to load up the car and head to a date on a tubing hill. A very nice family has a killer hill that he grooms for tubing. He invited our home school group to use it. We spent about 2 hours (17 kids!) hanging out and flying down the hill! It was incredible!! He was snow mobiles with sleds on that back to get to the top.

We got home just in time to have some lunch before anyone got hangry. Brooke’s Aunt Alle sent her the coolest Valentine’s Day craft kit and she cant get enough. So adorable!

Our snow (we got about 8-10 inches yesterday!) is looking gorgeous! It is pretty warm today, so the road is melting off and it was a bit muddy.

Just hanging for the rest of the day doing housework and working. Hoping to throw in some stretching or yoga this afternoon! Tubing is hard!

I am sorry to end this post on a sad note, but our neighbor’s had to put down our favorite Golden Retriever today. He has been battling an aggressive cancer for about 6 months and made it much longer than expected. He was only 4 and we are all going to miss him so much. There are lots of tears today, but we are thankful that we got to spend time giving him lots of love yesterday. He was the best dog friend you could ask for.

We love you, Jax.

Early Morning, Send Coffee.

Happiest Hump day to you! We can get excited that it is the middle of the week, right?

Yesterday was a bit rough as it started around 3:30 in the morning. This time it was not my fault, but I still blame the moon 😉 Brooke showed up at my bedside with a handful of stuffed animals and was ready to party. Ugh. After bringing her into our bed, it was just too hot for me and since she was being fidgety, I scooped her and her animals up and we headed to the guest room. It was a lot cooler, just the two of us and she fell right to sleep. Also, it kept us from keeping Ken awake. Unfortunately, I never fell back to sleep. Womp womp.

I heard Ken head down to the trainer around 5:45 but there was no way I was up for that, so I just stayed in bed until about 6:50 when I got up to make breakfast. Brooke woke up at 7:10 all cheery. I looked at her with dagger eyes 😉

Once Ken went to work, I cleaned up the kitchen and headed downstairs for an hour to ride. There is a possibility that I might do a bike race tonight, so I had to pump up the legs. They were not thrilled with the workout, but they hung in there.

Only dipped into the anaerobic for a little while.

Post-ride and necessary shower, Brooke insisted on an early lunch. We ate and then got dressed to head outside. While it wasn’t quite as warm as Monday (windchill), it was still nice out and we had a great time pretending that we were polar bears…and eating Jasper. Perfectly normal.

Thin jacket in January…no biggie.

Such a goof.

I keep forgetting her sunglasses in the truck Ken takes to work….so she has been wearing my goggles.

Giant melting puddle. Gross.

The snow was in perfect sliding condition.

When we came inside, we were both in the mood for some baking!

I mean, look at that thing! All from the Run Fast, Eat Slow cookbook.

And some cookies for good measure. Brooke fell in love with these and I had no problem handing her a second!

Brooke finished off the day with a bath and I managed to get my yoga on! Okay, 21 minutes of it…progress though!

Today we have a trip to the grocery and Brooke’s “performance” at ski school….and then maybe a bike race. I’ll let you know if it happens 😉

Have a wonderful day!
