Tomorrow is Friday. Happy dance!!
What is going on today? Big Thursday plans? Workout?? Easy day?? Soft pedal spin for me over here which I am incredibly thankful for after yesterday’s workout!
Wednesday started with the alarm going off at 5:30 and Ken asking if I wanted to bail and workout later. I never turn down an extra 45 minutes of laying in bed! When I finally rolled out from under the covers, it was time to get breakfast ready, pack Ken’s lunch and start the day.
First up…School time!

Since Brooke is more of a kinetic learner, I try to mix things up when we are doing the generic subjects. Today we were working on the letter D. I got out some Kosher salt and poured it into a cake pan and let her use her finger to practice the letters and numbers that we have done so far. It was a big hit!
She wanted to play dinosaurs in the mud, so we made our favorite mess (cornstarch and water) and she went to town on giving the dinos “mud baths”. How can I get in on that action??
While she was destroying the dining table, I threw together some chocolate pudding. Hey, I had the cornstarch out already 😉

It went well….until I poured sugar all over my stove top. That is a fun clean up, said no one ever.

I even managed to get everything in the slow cooker for Chicken Tortilla Soup. I LOVE when I have my stuff together and get dinner rolling early. Makes the evening so much more relaxing!

Around 11, I ventured down into the basement for my workout while Brooke used some watercolors to paint the dinosaurs. Thank goodness for things that wash off!
I spent an hour doing some interval work and becoming an absolute sweaty mess. Super attractive. You are welcome. Legs were still a bit sluggish, but better than yesterday.

After a quick lunch, Brooke, Jasper and I went for a walk down to check the mailbox. After the snow that we had last weekend, it was REALLY nice to play in some sunshine today!

She opted to ride her Strider.

The first of two snakes that we saw.

Must check out everything…it might be a grasshopper.

Some day I will put on some make up and look presentable….not today!

At least I take pretty pictures of scenery. That counts, right? Beaver…you home?

The trees are poppin’!

Snake number two! It was warm in the sun, but these guys were not moving very quickly.

We stopped on the way home to collect leaves so Brooke could “craft” with them.

Took some time to paint our nails on the porch. She went with the green sparkles.

The rest of the afternoon included organizing my bike drawers/closet (so that I dont have a panic attack getting ready for the first race) and then completely organizing/cleaning out/getting rid of things that are no longer age appropriate in Brooke’s closet. I was completely exhausted by the time we finished. Brooke does NOT like to part with things, so it was a huge blessing that she was willing to let me pull out some of those 18 month old toys. Geesh!
Thank goodness that dinner was already made! All I had to do was shred some cheese, cut an avocado and dish our bowls! (Ken was supposed to ride in town, but forgot his helmet so he rode from home and got home just in time to eat!).
And those were our hump day happenings!!
Thursday plans include: Brooke’s last swim lesson/my last gym workout, possible Fall pictures or yoga at the library, a trip to the dentist (boo) and who knows what other surprises! Hope that you have a beautiful day!
Anyone thinking about weekend plans already? Cutting Friday short? Squeezing in a bit more “summertime” fun before winter rolls around?
