Howdy and Happy 2019! Dont ask me where the last 2 months of 2018 went, I have no idea. But hey, happy to ring in a new year that promises many exciting things!!
Let’s rewind a little bit and do a little photo drop…aka all the pictures on my phone that I randomly find and feel the need to share 😉 Isn’t that how you keep track of your life?
Some pre-Christmas fun. Brooke thought that she and Jasper could dress up like little chefs. They were adorable.Â
Brooke’s Tiger got all dressed up…for something??
My sister (Alle) and my brother-in-law (David) joined us for Christmas. They made the 19 (?!?!!) hour drive from Portland to be with us. They brought their Drahthaar, Elsa (center) and their friends’ Vizsla, Ben (right) along to visit as well! It was AMAZING and we all had tons of fun!Brooke’s paradise 😉Brooke made sure to take excellent care of Elsa.Ben is 3 and a ball of energy. He is very excited about balls and will stare at you until you throw it! I took him out for 5 miles and he was happy to cuddle 🙂BAAAAALLLLLLLGot our ski on!And hit up the hot tub! Not to mention some snow mobiling and epic sledding!
Christmas was super fun. Jasper LOVES presents.
So does Brooke. Alle set up an amazing scavenger hunt for her and we were done before the sun came up. Kids. She had a BLAST following all the clues!Excavating! Our tree was perfect.Always food on her face!Alle and David actually left on Christmas Day, so we spent the next day (my birthday) doing a bit of skiing and making a trip to Costco. On the 27th, I hopped on a plane and after countless delays, canceled flights and unplanned rental cars with midnight drives, I made it to Cincinnati. We spent Friday saying goodbye to my amazing Grandma, Lois. Luckily, since shopping and fashion are not really my thing, Alle had a dress all set for me when I got there! Alle and I gave the Eulogy at the Church and it was amazing to see a lot of the family that I had not seen in a while. (sleep deprived eyes)Saturday was spent eating. And hopping on the treadmill for 6 miles…because…eating. Literally had 6 scoops of Graeters’ ice cream in 2 days. Still working that off 😉 And maybe the 7 pieces of pizza on Friday night. My flight on Sunday had me up at 6 and at the airport by 6:45 am. The airport was busy but I had plenty of time to grab the necessary caffeine before the flight took off. Chicago
After some delays, I finally made it home in time to hot tub and hang with the family!
New Year’s Eve was pretty low key and I fell asleep on the couch at 8:15. Ha.
On New Year’s Day, it was COLD. Like a high of 8 degrees cold. Ken and I rode the trainers for an hour (Ken did 1.5 hours). Then, I crazily threw on my running shoes and did 4 miles outside in the spongy snow (in 4 degrees). I was pretty tired after that!
We headed to a party and Brooke was thrilled to sled with some older girls.Â
This morning, it was -20 at our house (Ken saw -32 degrees on the drive to work). Jasper found the best place in the house. 😉 Ken and I did an hour on the trainers and then I got in a 4 mile COLD run outside followed by weights. Is it bedtime yet??
And that has been the end to a year and the start of a new one! So many exciting things to come.
I hope you had an amazing Christmas and New Year celebration. Bring on 2019!
