Thursday Ramblings

Howdy! Who else is super excited that it is Thursday already? <Raises both hands>

Yesterday was a little more exciting than we expected when we quickly realized that ski lessons were starting! Around 11, we headed into town to get Brooke ready to hit the slopes!

We need snow sooooo bad.

These two melt my heart. ❤

We were excited to find out that Brooke had several friends in the class!! And we knew 3 of the instructors from different areas of life. There is something amazing about living in a small town. Love it so much!

While Brooke was skiing, I got in a 5 mile run with Jasper. I love taking him running, but he has to stop to pee so much and it really does a number on my pace 😉 I guess the tradeoff is worth it…he thinks so. The path in town was mostly dry, save for a few sections of treacherous ice….managed to keep it upright so I am calling that a huge win!

Post-athletics, Brooke and I headed home.

Upping my running miles means that I am hungry….all the time!!

Like … give me all the foods!!!

IMG_4505

All food. Any food. Just typing this makes me want to find a snack. Geesh.

There has also been a fair amount of roller action happening. Yesterday was the first day that I had run on pavement in a LONG time and my shins were not thrilled about that.

IMG_4506

Neither were my feet. Ugh.

IMG_4510

Got some recovery time while playing dress up. Dont be jealous of my look 😉

IMG_4507

The husband ran at work yesterday. He has been jogging for the last two weeks and then he does this….I only hate him a little bit.

IMG_4508

Apparently I was successful.

IMG_4509

This morning we are doing some school work.

I am aiming to get some miles in when it warms up a bit. The sun is shining, so that ups the motivation to get outside! Lots of chores on our list today….better get after it!

Hope you have a fantastic Thursday!!!

Happy 2018!

Happy New Year, Everyone!! We are sneaking our way into the New Year in what feels like slow motion. After almost 2 weeks in vacation mode, returning to real life has been well, real!

But let’s rewind to some pre-“return to normalcy” fun!

Sunday morning started off with a trip to church. It is nice to be back in the swing of things and Brooke was excited to see her friends. I took the day as a rest day and worked around the house.

By 8, we were on the couch and ready to ring in the New Year…okay, we were in bed by 10:30. We are pretty cool :/ Wouldnt have it any other way!

Monday, we were treated to a gorgeous sunrise to start the New Year!

IMG_4490

And then we spent the next couple of hours working on the basement. Much more inviting to work out in now….we just need a ceiling 😉

IMG_4492

I jumped on the treadmill for 3 easy miles. Brooke joined me with the whole entourage.

Another day spent puttering around the house (Ken got his shop looking pretty great before heading back to work!).

More sunrise pics because they have been incredible!

The moon hasn’t been so bad itself! The pictures do not do it any justice!

And the moon setting on Tuesday!!

Yesterday was filled with a trip to the pool and grocery. I had run 3 miles on the treadmill before we headed to town (I am signed up for the lululemon #4080challenge on strava).

My goal is to run 80k in the next two weeks….the only problem is that apparently treadmill miles dont count. Ump. I realized this when we got home and decided that I better get outside for 3 more miles so I wouldnt be too far behind. Six miles for the day right around an 8:42 pace for both sets of 3. I’m tired 😉

This morning, I realized that it should be about time for Brooke’s ski lessons to start…clearly I functioned well over vacation. We looked online and realized that it starts today. Oops! Signed her up and we will be heading into town around lunchtime for her lesson! Should be able to get some miles in running whilst she plays!

Better get to finding all the ski stuff…something about the weather and lack of snow has me totally behind in that department. Have a great Wednesday!!
