Hey Monday friends! How was your weekend?? Do anything fun? Watch the Super Bowl? What a game?! We didnt really care which team won, but were cheering for the Eagles because they were the underdogs….Down to the wire!!
We had an awesome low key weekend with a lot of fun thrown in!
Saturday we spent the morning watching the women’s cyclocross world’s races. Katie Compton put on such a great show for us! What an amazing race…and 3 Americans in the top 10. Incredible!
The weather was pretty nice, so Ken set out on his bike with the hopes of getting in at least two hours. Well, the riding was so good that he got in 3.5 hours with one stop for coffee π Not bad for the beginning of February (over 50 miles for the day!).
While he was out, I decided to get my long run done some that we could consolidate our workout time and have more time to play!
Eight miles on the treadmill around an 8:20 pace with some faster miles at the finish. Nothing like a fast finish run when you just want to be done π I was super sweaty (I planned to go outside for the second 4 miles, but Brooke wanted me to stay in the basement…and it saved a second outfit!).
After Ken got home and we had some lunch, we headed outside for some sledding. The snow was in good shape for some high speeds and we enjoyed launching off the jump at the bottom!
Ken was a little tired after his ride π
Jasper wanted all the snow balls.
These clouds though!!
Hello, sun rays.
On Sunday, we started out the day with the men’s cyclocross worlds races (pattern, much?) Poor MvdP, I think he has a block on that race….one bad race every year and it just happens to be an important one!
We had plans to ski in town. I was going to meet up with a friend, but she ended up feeling under the weather so we will go a different day. That meant that I got to ski with the fam, so I wasn’t sad about it!
Nice ride, B.
This girl loves the chairlifts and we had a blast!
Rough views.
Ken skied backwards most of the day and carried her when she was tired. I have no idea how he is moving today!! We ended up pretty close to the top of the mountain and Brooke did a fantastic job. We maybe pushed it 2 runs past exhaustion…but we were both impressed!!
We made it home in time for a dip in the hot tub before making dinner and spending the evening watching a little football game π
Then we went to bed at 9. Ha!
This morning we got up to ride at 5 (1 hour of riding and 15 minutes of weights). This would have been great had Brooke not had a bad dream and gotten me up to sleep with her at 3. Yeah, spoiler alert, I didn’t go back to sleep…..give me all the coffeeeeeeeee.
And that was our weekend! Currently trying to muster up the energy to get on with the day. Hoping to get an easy 3 mile jog in a bit later and then some stretching. The class that I am teaching just started today, so bring on all the student emails π
Hope you have a great start to your week!!
Wonderful pictures!!! Glad you had such a fun, family weekend! π
