Hi there! How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? We hung around the house and enjoyed some time together. Brooke has a bit of a cold, so we are keeping our germs to ourselves for a few days.
On Friday, we had a beautiful day!
After a super easy 4 mile run, Brooke, Jasper and I spent a good amount of time playing in the sunshine!
Somewhere in the afternoon, Brooke decided that she has had enough of the battles to get the knots out of her hair. She asked me to cut it off…so I did. It got a bit shorter than I had anticipated, but she asked for it!
It is pretty adorable, but she looks too grown up 😉
By the end of the day…we all felt like this 😉
Saturday morning pigtails!
And a building sesh…
Winter is so pretty!
Got ready to go for a run… 6 miles and then some cross country skiing (that involved a gnarly crash…oops).
Had to switch to my Ghosts for some extra cushion with all these miles!!
Ended the day with some quality time in the hot tub…so that I could walk the next day 😉
Sunday started with some of this….
Finally some snow…and a happy dog!
I headed out for 3 miles of running. Running on snow is like running on sand and it was SLOW. But…I ended up with 32 (46ish km) miles for the week in my quest for the 80k in two weeks! My body is doing surprisingly well and I am actually making sure to stretch and foam roll!
When I got home from my run, Ken and Brooke were sledding (and jumping) down the driveway! I joined in (as did Jasper) and it was amazing! Lots of time spent outside in the powder!
Did some breakfast prep…(it was yummy this morning!!)
Ken went for a fat bike ride (he rode on the road on Saturday and got in almost 40 miles!?!?! In January?!?!) and when he got home, we headed to the basement for some weight work. I did mostly upper body and core since my legs were already pretty juiced!
Pretty sure I was in bed by 8:30. Running is hard.
This morning started like this….I cant get enough!
Since Brooke is still a bit under the weather, we postponed our grocery shopping until tomorrow hoping that she sounds a little better. Planning to get about 2 miles in today and call it a bit of a recovery day! The legs are tired, but I still hope to get in that 80k by the end of the week (well, end of the coming weekend!).
Hope you have a great start to your week 🙂
