Busy Day, Quiet Week

on November 17, 2017

Hi Everyone! Hope you have had a great week! Just popping in to say hello tonight. We started off the week strong, but Wednesday Brooke and I woke up with some minor food poisoning or some kind of stomach thing. In the grand scheme of things, it seems pretty mellow. Just a little off…but hopefully we are on the up and up and getting excited for the weekend!

Just a few highlights from the week…because, let’s be honest, the rest is better left unwritten. 😉

On Tuesday, we headed to town for Brooke’s swim lesson. She and another boy from her group lessons had gotten along so well that we hooked them up for some semi-private lessons!

The sky was pretty stellar.

While Brooke swam, I was able to get in 25 minutes of weight work. My legs were still sore from the weekend, but I went at them nonetheless. We spent the rest of the day running a couple of errands and picking up some groceries before heading home to play.

I jumped on the treadmill for a quick 4 miles when we got home to really solidify the death of my legs. 8:43 average for the 4.

That night, Brooke woke me up for water at about 1 am (so I guess the next morning, really?). I couldn’t go back to sleep so I rocked another evening of little sleep. Always fun.

The next morning, her and I felt a little funny (and spent much of the day in the house). I did take Jasper out for 3 miles of running with the quad.

These two. Never a  dull moment!

Clearly, she slept better than I did after getting her drink of water. Love when she dresses me up. :/

Mid-day, I headed to the basement for about 55 minutes on the trainer. Somehow I timed this pic just right to include Wade. Thanks, Hart of Dixie for helping me drown out the trainer time.

The rest of the day was pretty low key. Just checking out the weather for the week. Hello, Friday!

The sunset was pretty killer.

This morning we were both feeling better (not quite 100%), but enjoyed our waffles.

Brooke took it upon herself to keep Jasper extra toasty.

Then we made some “clean mud” for her to use with her dinosaurs. (3 cups baking soda/1 cup water).

I got to work on some of the super fun chores.

From dinos to dresses….and dont judge the Christmas music. 😉

The rest of the day was spent trying to clean things up in the yard before the storm….and then cleaning up the messes that were created WHILE I was trying to clean up the rest of our world. Brooke is the best at new messes 😉

Ken is spending the evening at an Avalanche Safety class (not his first, but so good to have things refreshed!). Brooke is playing in the bathtub before it is time to say goodnight and get to grading. Last night, I went to bed at 8. Maybe I will make it to 9 tonight…..we’ll see 😉

Hoping to wake up 100% tomorrow and enjoy the snow!

Gaah snow in the mountains! So jealous! Can’t wait till you have photos to post of the mountain. Do you guys plan to do ski lessons in place of other lessons during the winter?

Hi Lindsay! Snow to stay in the mountains. They are blowing snow at the resort as well. So soon! We really enjoy back country skiing from our house with the snow mobiles and an AT set up. Yes, Brooke did 2 sets of lessons (each 5 weeks last year) and will probably do the same this year. We like doing the lessons at Howelsen since it is a little bit quieter than the mountain 🙂
