Monday…we meet again!
How was your weekend?? Do anything fun? We are currently having a quick intro to winter. Hello, snow.
But let’s rewind to Friday, when it was simply rain that were dealing with….
I was seriously struggling to find motivation on Friday, ergo….Sangria making. Not gonna lie, it went very well with dinner π
Brooke and I spent some quality time drawing. Read: HOURS of drawing and coloring. She requested a lion and (full disclosure) I am NOT a very good artist, but I think he turned out pretty cute.
Spent the evening making dinner and playing CandyLand. She beat me. Twice.
It is tough being the dog.
On Saturday, we lounged around until about 7 am. Dream big, right? After a delicious breakfast, Ken and Brooke sent me on my way to town for a bike ride.
I was so excited that I took selfies, with my bike. Perfectly normal.
Once in town, I headed out for what is known as the Coal Mine Loop. One of my goals this summer was to ride it (since I have not done it before and it has great climbing!). Better late than never, huh?!
It was an awesome (and hard) ride. Three hours 49 miles and 3000+ feet of climbing. To be honest, that is my favorite part. All the flats had me working hard to get back to the car π I managed to place in the top 10 for 4 of the Strava segments out there (and 2 of the 3 climbs-I was 12th on the last). I was pretty conservative on the ride since it was my first time and I wanted to make sure that I could get back to town π It was about 34 degrees when I started and then closer to 48 when I finished. A bit chilly, but I will take it! Managed to not get rained on. FTW!
When I got home, Brooke had a package waiting for her. Inside, her current obsession: Dinosaurs!! Thanks, Mom. She has been playing with them ever since. She asked for my phone to take their “class picture”. Perfect.
Girl is already working on her selfie game already!
Ken ventured out for his ride around 12:45. He wasnt quite so lucky with his weather. Brooke and I kept an eye on the storm and when it got super windy and started pouring/thundering, we headed out to check on him. We followed him for a bit while he finished up his interval and the road was still in decent condition. He bailed before the road turned into deep, sticky mud. Good choice.
Spent the rest of the afternoon playing (you guessed it, dinosaurs) and staying warm in the house (well, Ken worked in the shop-brave guy).
On Sunday, we started the day with Church. It was pretty gloomy from the get go. Lots of rain. When we got home and started on lunch, the weather got more exciting and it started to snow.
And what should you do when it snows? Take your dinosaurs out to play in it??!
Another low key day of play and a quick spin on the trainer (super easy for me!) before dinner.
Ken went outside to work on a project in the shop in the evening and Jasper was glued to the windows making sure he didnt get out the snowblower without him!! The dog LOVES to chase snow
I finished setting up my class that starts today. Back to the grind!
This morning we woke up to legit snow!
And it is still coming down!!! Nothing like a completely covered yard on October 2nd!
This morning has been filled with Brooke school work and such. She begged for a break so that she can play with the dinos. Yay for homeschool flexibility! hahaha.
She is also really looking forward to going outside after lunch to play in the snow. Glad someone is excited!! π I love me some snow….not quite ready yet.
Have a great day! See ya tomorrow!
