Fit After Little Bits

He’s coming hommmmeeee

We might be a little bit excited that Ken is coming home today!! Ten days in Asia is just too long! 😉

On another positive note: found my camera today. In my purse. No comment.

Yesterday seemed to fly by in the midst of working around the house and spinning on the trainer for an hour. I really need a new show. Anyone?

Before I jump into the happenings of today….camera vomit…

These feet…in these shoes. Be still my heart. She chose them herself.

They go well with her wacky attitude.

My sister-in-law has a lot of deer at her house (this is their neighbors house, but they joined us shortly after).

Their view doesn’t stink either.

Refuses to look at the camera.

Still not looking.

Insert toy in mouth and hold.

Someone stole my camera. Thanks, B.

End of photo dumb. Now it is time for random decor additions in 3..2..1…

Good thing the husband is on a plane and wont see until he gets home! Brooke and I did quite the shopping on the Front Range. Here are some of our finds. Thank you Hobby Lobby!

Want a new light fixture so badly….haven’t found one that I love. Now it has to work around the bike 😉

Attempting to recollect the water that Jasper likes to splash on the floor. We will see how it works!

Just trying to start some roots. Also, washed that window today! FTW.

This morning started off with ballet. Love me some good adult chatting time!

We then swung by the grocery for some essentials before heading home for lunch. Fun fact: Ate too much lunch and then ran 4 miles (the middle two were supposed to be an effort). I almost saw my lunch again. Did mile 2 pretty hard and then about halfway through the 3rd, I decided that it wasn’t worth it to upchuck and toned it down. Finished with an average of 8:53 (mile 2 was at 7:23).

Currently sitting on the floor while Brooke plays in the bath. Then hopefully I will get to shower and clean up the house before Ken gets home….wooohhoooooo!!!!

This was from yesterday…here is to many more days like this to come!! Let’s go Spring!!

Too cool for school!

Weekend Getaway

Hey there! How is your Tuesday going?? We are playing a little bit of catch up after getting home yesterday afternoon.  (Also, I cannot find my camera?! I’m sure that it is packed somewhere and I will post some pics tomorrow!)

Since the husband has been in Asia (Bangkok and Hong Kong) for work, I thought it would be fun to head to the Front Range to hang out with Ken’s sister and her husband. We headed down after packing up and getting in a quick 45 minutes of trainer riding on Friday. We enjoyed a relaxed evening before hitting the sack pretty early.

On Saturday, Errin, Brooke and I did a bit of shopping. It was my goal to do a little decor shopping while Ken was gone. We hit up Lowes, Home Goods and Costco. It was a bit of a whirlwind couple of hours, but we made it home for lunch!

We found Jasper some toys while at Costco. He quickly took out the squeakers.

After Errin got in a quick bike workout, we headed out to watch part of her husband’s cycling road race. The climb at the end looked super fun!

I wish I was as good of a cook as she is! This beef and barely soup was perfection!

Brooke managed to get stuck in the cat scratcher. Talent.

Sunday was spent relaxing a bit. Errin and Colin got in about 2 hours on the bikes and then switched with me so I could get in a trail run (didn’t take a bike). The first 20 minutes came complete with rain and hail (ouch!). The trails became quite slippery and it became a game of; how to keep it upright. Luckily, after the initial weather, I was able to settle into a rhythm and dried out a bit. I finished up with 8 decently hard trail miles and 1 cool down mile: 9 for the day!

On Monday, we had a special date at the zoo! Errin was able to take a little time out of her day and meet us there!

You guys. Baby giraffe. OMG. Dobbie!! He may have been the cutest thing that I have ever seen!!

I think this one is pretty cute too!

Once we finished up at the zoo, Brooke, Jasper and I stopped by Trader Joe’s before heading out of town. Essentials.

We had a pretty relaxed drive home (B was tired from the Zoo FTW!!).

As soon as we walked in, I got a fire going (56 degrees in the house-brrrr) and let Brooke hop in the bathtub to stay warm. I unloaded the car and got dinner together and before I knew it, I was putting her in her bed and catching up on Big Little Lies before going to sleep myself.

Today has been filled with the usual laundry and unpacking. We also took some time to do some decorating! Here is a peak at Brooke’s room. I will try to get some more done tomorrow. So excited to get rid of all the bare walls!

She helped pick out her decor and placement. She is more talented than I am! I think she likes it!

Hopped on the trainer for an hour this afternoon, followed by a mile to drop off a piece of mail and then some fire wood moving. All quality workouts 😉

Time to make some dinner and get some work done this evening!

Have a great night!

What day is it again?

As a work-from-home Mom, sometimes it is kind of hard to keep track of the days. Thank goodness for Thursdays. Ballet keeps up on our toes!

This morning, Brooke was all about oatmeal for breakfast. I remember when I was a kid, oatmeal was something that my grandparents ate. It was almost like a punishment to have it, but Brooke adores it! She loves it topped with a little coconut sugar, honey, almond milk and sliced bananas. Foodie already.

We made it to town a bit early today and swung by Off the Beaten Path (most adorable book store) for some tea and “kid coffee” (vanilla steamer).

Brooke then enjoyed her 45 minute class of spinning and jumping and dancing her little heart out. It is really neat to see the difference in couple of months that she has been taking ballet. Adorable.

We had a couple of errands to run and then I was convinced that we needed to stop at the park for a little while. Those clouds!? You feel extra close to them when you live at altitude 😉

It got a little windy, so we were not there too long. Just long enough to burn off some residual crazy. Why yes, that is the ski slope where Brooke took lessons. And yes, folks, that is dirt. What the what?!?!

Since we were both on our way to hangry-town, we stopped in at a new to us restaurant: Lil House Country Biscuits and Coffee

It was pretty tasty! I had a biscuit sandwich with egg whites, goat cheese and red bell peppers. Brooke stole all of my peppers to go on her biscuit. I think we will be visiting again. It was nice and quiet-just the way we like things!

After finishing up our food, we ventured on home. Brooke Red Box-ed Moana and watched that while I rode the trainer for just under an hour. She really enjoyed it! Once I had finished up on the bike and her movie had ended, she requested a bath. I utilized that for some core work and (much neglected) stretching. Gah….anyone else struggle fitting that in?! So important and the first thing I skip when time gets short…and even if I have the time! Better…I will be better.

I do love my new Lucy yoga pants though…even when they are awkwardly bunched at the knee.

Post workout-time to ice the foot. Thinking I have some extensor tendonitis or strain going on so I am taking it easy on foot movements to see how that goes. It doesn’t hurt on the bike, so I am enjoying the riding before I try hitting up running again.

Yes, I need to paint my toe nails. It has been MONTHS. Procrastination at its finest….also, not quite sandal weather yet 😉

Noosa…does a post workout snack get any better? Swoon. This flavor=the best.

Currently reading: 10 Ways to Immediately Improve on the Bike. Then maybe I will have to go hop on the trainer again. Though, I dont think that many of them apply to indoor riding 😉

Happy almost Friday!!
