Waking up is Hard to do

on February 7, 2017

Hi there! Hope you are having a stellar Tuesday. Starting to think about Valentine’s Day plans yet??

This past weekend provided a bit of a warmer long run, which was awesome. I managed to get 10 miles in at about a 9 min/mile pace. It was a bit slower that last weekends run, but I opted out of spikes and was slipping around a bit more. Not to mention the head wind on the way home! Was pretty happy when that was over!

On Sunday, I traded the running shoes for my snow bike! It had been a while since I had gone out and the 30 something degree temps lured me outside (not to mention that the husband was home to watch the kiddo!)

Welllll…..The warmer temps caused a bit of melting on our road. This meant slush and ice and MUD! (slipperier than snot!!!) I misread some terrain and ended up on a slick off-camber and down I went. Straight.into.the.mud. I am okay with crashing…but seriously, we havent even had mud here for MONTHS. The first day?!?! Geesh! AND it happened 10 minutes into the ride. I had to ride 50 more minutes wet and dirty. BRRRRRRRR. The things we will do to get our outdoor workouts in!

Managed to kick my bike in the process of crashing. Perfect.

Yesterday morning and this morning, Ken and I managed to drag our booties out of bed around 5:30 to hop on the trainers in the basement. While I am not naturally peppy in the morning-it is nice to have company, get the workout done before the kiddo gets up AND we have started a new show that has my attention. Anyone seen Covert Affairs?? The girl from Coyote Ugly is in it and it is pretty fun. Found it on Amazon!

Do morning workouts make you starve for the rest of the day?! I eat every 10 minutes. Unfortunately, the husband left these in the freezer. Wont be there for long!

Tomorrow, Ken is hopping into an evening Fat Bike race. I opted out since I would probably just be terrified of a mountain lion eating me in the dark. Brooke and I will be spectating from the nice warm lodge 😉 She has ski school tomorrow, so I hope to get a nice run in during that! At least we get to sleep in!

Trying Blue Apron tonight for the first time! Have to see what the hype is all about. Still on the fence about whether or not it is worth the cost. Be ready for an unbiased opinion coming soon 😉

And because I cant help it…img_1106
