So…we all know that I have a thing for bikes…and running…and paddle boarding…okay, most every sort of outdoor physical activity…but what I am not good about is stretching. Eeek. I know. (Hangs head in shame).
At the end of last year, I was gifted with a free month of yoga at Corepower. I had been a couple of times before when I took advantage of their “your first week is free to try us out” plan. Let’s put it this way, the first week is free, but you only go twice because you cant move for days in between. Okay, I kid…but not really.
To say that I was excited about this endeavor was an understatement. Flexibility=much needed in my world! I have a 2.5 year old I have to chase and lift while in all sorts of positions! I knew that I would not be able to use my whole month because we were moving and there is not a Corepower in Steamboat….so, I fit in as much as I could in my 3 weeks!
Because we were in the midst of crazy packing, the only time I could justify escaping for a workout was from 6-7 am. Ooomph. 5:30 alarm, anyone?
I cannot tell you how much I loved it and how much it was worth those early wake up calls! After the first 2 classes, my body finally started to get the hang of it. The timing meant that I was taking Corepower 2 (a flow class) and YogaSculpt (oh my workout) throughout the week…1 week, I took 3 sculpt and 1 C2 class in 4 days. Hello, biceps.
After my 3 weeks (hoping to sneak in a class this weekend while we are down on the front range), I so want to keep yoga as part of my normal weekly routine. Right now, my schedule and location isnt one that allows for going to classes, so I am taking advantage of my own flow practice…complete with a kiddo and using free online resources.
Take away…try it! If you are in the Broomfield, CO area, check out Alli’s class on Tuesday mornings at 6. Killer. Or look up Mollie C through out the locations! I promise, you will thank me later! Things to remember: take extra clothes for after…you will be drenched, water bottles for class are a must and dont overdress!
Yoga can be such a great habit to get into! I need to do it more, but interestingly, my fiancee just started taking some yoga classes after work on his own and it’s helping him so much!
Totally a great habit! I find myself trying to figure out what is worth more to me…10 more minutes of cardio/weights or throwing in some yoga. Totally going with the yoga right now! So glad it is helping our fiancee!! It is amazing how much more energy I had AFTER a hard yoga class. Unreal.
