Well, it has been a while! But I promise it is with good reason.
Things in our world have been a little turned around lately! With Ken’s new job at, get this, Smartwool….there have been quite a few changes around our house….or, er, old house?
We found out around Christmas that we would be moving to the Steamboat Springs area and it has been a whirlwind since then. We have been spending hours days weeks getting everything together. We are currently at our rental house up here in the mountains and it is gorgeous. There is just something about a bajillion feet of snow!
Over the last few weeks, we have been packing up our belongings and doing repairs/cleaning up our house to sell. OMG. I cannot tell you how exhausted I am (not to mention, we are doing it with a 2.5 year old who thinks emptying boxes is much more fun). During the last 3 weeks, I have also been consistently going to yoga (more on that in a separate post!
The drive up to Steamboat is really not terrible. It takes about 4 hours with the trailer…in the winter, but about 3 in normal conditions. And it is absolutely gorgeous!! On Saturday, I drove my car up with Brooke and Jasper while Ken drove the truck and trailer with the majority of our belongings…but I had the kid, dog and all the bikes…so 😉
Speaking of bikes, riding has been pretty limited lately. With the craziness of packing, we literally could not find the time to get in workouts….plus we were just too tired to get motivated! Fat bike nationals are at the end of Utah, so we are going to see if we can get our behinds in gear and get some training in to make the trip worth it
We are so incredibly excited about our new adventure and I cannot wait to share it with you! While we are still in the process of selling our house (goes on the market today!!), we are also looking for somewhere to buy up here. The housing market is a bit more expensive 😛 so we are looking for a fixer upper since we love our projects!
As if this wasnt enough of an exciting start to 2016, I am also thrilled to tell you that I got selected to be a Pearl Izumi Champion Team member for cycling! Eeeekkk….more on that and my Corepower Yoga experience coming up….
**I wrote this yesterday…and this morning we found out that the house we are renting is now under contract to be sold…..so we have 30 days to find something new! In a town with nothing on the market….another adventure 😛
