So, this week has been a little weird. It has been one week since Ken was let go from his job. Strangely enough, he already had a trip planned for a family event and he was gone last Friday-Monday morning. I think it was good for him to just get away.
Brooke and I held down the fort over the weekend and my brother in law was kind enough to watch her while I raced on Saturday. The race itself was BRUTAL. I really liked the course, minus maybe the bajillion miles of sand (slight exaggeration). I could ride the sand in warm ups, but with people around during the race, it was a bit more of a challenge. There was a lot of running.
I started out in 1st, but didnt stay there long. It was about 90 degrees and I absolutely STINK at racing in the heat. I managed to hold onto 11th (consistent, much?). It was one of those races where I literally felt like I was going to die. I, no joke, even walked part of the sand. Could no longer function. Terrible. But I lived to fight another day.
Brooke talked me into smoothies after the race…and right before dinner. She is trouble.
This weekend, Ken is racing both days and I am just hitting up the Sunday race. Hopefully it will be a bit cooler out!

Work morning time
Since Ken is now home with Brooke while I work, I do not have to worry about getting her ready to go to the babysitters….or picking her up! This situation has a lot of benefits!
Okay, so I just ordered this today and am HOPING I love it. I tend to pull off my wedding rings for races and forget to put them back on! Hoping this will allow me to race without worry and still feel like my married self. Let you know.

See that jacket…and sweat pants on that girl! It is cooler out today and we even have the possibility of rain! Pretty much stoked on that. Hello, Fall. We have been waiting for you!
