Hi there,

Welcome to my blog. I have been blogging over at youmeandjaspy.blogspot.com for a little while but it has become more of a baby blog and I am looking for a little creative escape in the grown up world.

My name is LeeAnn and I am a 31 year old chiropractor/professor of anatomy and physiology. I have taken some time off from practicing to spend with my little bits. Her name is Brooke and she just turned 1 and (besides my husband) is the love of my life. I am thankful for every minute I spend with her. Brooke is a real trooper because she spends a lot of time working out with me. Whether it is in the BOB running stroller or in the trailer behind my bike, she has become a staple of many of my workouts. She also works as a great coach. I negative-split almost everything because she is ready to be done and not afraid to say so.

Over the last year I have not only returned to pre-baby shape, but I have become much fitter. I have shifted my workout focus from running to cycling, although I just decided to train for a half marathon (3 weeks of training is enough, right?). And lets not forget the arm workouts. Really, carrying around a 19 lb baby is all anyone really needs! Core work has been a necessity. Not only getting some abdominal muscles back, but protecting my low back with all of the strange positions you end up in during the day (picking up a toy with both of your hands full and holding a baby-geesh!).

The purpose of this blog is to keep track of workouts/goals, share helpful workout tips and maybe offer some encouragement to other Moms who are trying to figure out how to balance being there for baby and not giving up that athlete in you that wants to stick around! Everyday offers new challenges-there is definitely not an “easy” way, but it is all worth it!
